Sebastien came to Silicon Valley in the mid 90s when the World Wide Web was still competing against CompuServe and AOL as the dominant online platform. Convinced that technology could one day drive businesses’ profits and sales, he worked for e-commerce technology pioneers eShop and Intershop and went on to take business development and product management roles for Microsoft and Oracle CRM division. Sebastien then co-founded one of the leading parenting website in Europe and experienced first-hand the exhilarating journey of the startup entrepreneur which, to this point remains one of his most fulfilling moments of his professional career. In the mid-00s, he started to invest in fast growing companies in IT, Internet and consumer sectors. Seb founded Next World Capital in 2008 and closed the first VC expansion-stage fund in 2009.
On the personal side, Sebastien keeps trying to balance his life between NWC, his wife Julie, his four kids and a bit of exercise.
Sebastien holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Paris-Dauphine University, a master’s degree in management from Stanford University where he was a Sloan Fellow, and a post-master’s degree in quantitative marketing from IAE, Aix-en-Provence.
